Hello and a very spectacular AUTUMN Friday to you all!
Sure, sure Autumn might not officially begin until September 22nd but to me Autumn is here the moment September hits. And wouldn’t you know it, it’s September 4th.
I know I sort of dropped off in August and I apologize for that but there was a lot going on and it was unavoidable. This month should be much better though, I actually feel like I have a grasp on everything now.
Enough about me though, today marks the first post of a new month, not only a new month but a new quarter as well. Before we can move onto this months goals we must first go over the goals from August.
Write 30,000 words 🧡
I was only able to get 15,000 words. Still not a complete failure but also not a success either.
Continue site edits 💚
There have been some changed to the home page but the biggest update was that the Reaper page has been removed and replaced with a Works in Progress page to keep you all updated on all my WIPs at once.
Upload current 2020 photos 💚
I’m glad I got this done, it’s one less thing for me to worry about. Now I have a place where I can look at the good times of the year when things get hard. I don’t know what else 2020 could bring that’s photo worthy. My anniversary is coming up and of course I’ll take pictures at Christmas but the virus has taken so many other things. We’ll just have to wait and see.
Clear out old photos 💚
I ended up removing almost 300 photos. Even I was shocked by the number.
Finish decorating my office 💚
It’s finally done!! After two years of waiting my office is finally remodeled. I’m really happy with how things turned out and my office now feels like it’s own space from the rest of the house.
Read a book 💚
I actually ended up reading four books this month: Midnight Sun, and the first three books in the Vampire Academy series. I feel absolutely in love with the Vampire Academy series and can’t wait to read the last three this month!
Continue making my Indiecember TBR 💚
I’m so happy I managed to complete this goal. I currently have twenty-four books that I am ever so eager to read! This list is subject to grow or change when the official Indiecember bingo board is released but for now I’m good to go.
Complete requests 🧡
I managed to get about half the requests done. I was aiming to have them all completed but I will settle for half and work on the other half throughout September.
Get a library card ❤️
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to complete this goal because things just never lined up and I was never able to get to the library but I’m still hoping to get one in September.
Continue with my island 💚
I played Animal Crossing for a little bit this month but my newest addiction has been Neverwinter. Being visually impaired makes finding videogames to play a challenge so when my friend suggested Neverwinter I was apprehensive since I hadn’t been able to play an RPG in years. My gods this game is so awesome and I know a lot of my love for it not only comes from the visual easy of playing it but also from the character design. I have two accounts, one on the Xbox (the account I play on while my husband is at work) and one on the PlayStation (the one I play when my husband is home and playing Call of Duty). 10/10 would definitely recommend. So that turned into a bit of a gush about the game. I’ve also been enjoying LEGO Harry Potter.
A fairly good August turn out if I do say so myself. But with the fall of August comes the end of the summer quarter. The Autumn quarter is set to be a very busy one but also the most exciting yet. Onto the new goals!
Autumn Quarter (September - November)
September Goals
Write 20,000 words
I originally had this goal set for 30k but I‘m feeling a little burned out right now so instead of biting off more than I could chew and having to change things later, I’ve decided to set a lower goal this time around. If I end up writing more than 20k that’s great but I’m setting my aim low this time around.
Read 5 books
I have this set at five for a very specific reason. I fully intend on finishing the last three books of the Vampire Academy series so that’s three (these shouldn’t take me more than a week to finish). The Savior’s Sister comes out at the end of the month, making four. I figured I should give myself at least one book from my extensive TBR but I’d really like to knock out two though we’ll see how things go.
Get a Library card
Another task left from August but I refuse to let it slip through my fingers again. Getting to the library shouldn’t be this freaking hard!
Complete Requests
I still need to complete the other half of the requests I didn’t get to in August. It shouldn’t be too difficult and I’m quite looking forward to finally having them finished.
Exercise five times a week
With the stresses of July and August over I’m back to focusing on better myself. My diet has already begun but I need to get back into the swing of including exercising in my routine.
Not as much to accomplish this month as there was last month but important none the less. Tomorrow and Sunday I’ll be rather busy so I’ve already had to switch some stuff around to make everything work. Every month is an adventure but Autumn breathes a new sense of life into me and I’m feeling motivated.
Which season makes you feel the most motivated or productive?
Until next week my lovelies!
✿ Happy reading and writing to all and to all a good day ✿
