Happy New Year everyone!
I know I’m a bit late to the party, that’s due to a lot of circumstances and a need to gather myself again. I apologize for my two month absence. NaNoWriMo had me so focused that November got away from me and December was my month off dedicated entirely to family. The end of the year held it’s own trials but now I’m back and feeling better than ever.
In my absence a new year and a new decade has begun! Not only that but it’s the perfect time for a fresh start, leave all your woes from 2019 behind and focus on everything you can make 2020 be.
I have big plans for 2020 and there’s no time like the present to start making dreams come true. Of course with it being the start of a new month I have some monthly goals to share but with it being the beginning of a new year I also have some fresh yearly goals to share as well.
2020 Goals
First and foremost I want to paint my office.
Those of you who have followed my blog will know that this has been something on my to-do list since January of last year but this year I’m determined to accomplish that especially since it’s my birthday present to myself.
My next goal is to read at least 48 books this year.
I have completed a TBR list for the year with one book down already and another on it’s way. If I can figure out the right technique to writing book reviews then maybe I’ll pick a book each month to share with you.
Begin a healthier lifestyle
As per the requirement after the holidays, my husband and I are going on a diet and this year I thought we would give the Keto diet a try with a low carb twist. This means I need to start building a Keto cookbook, something that I’m really looking forward to.
On top of that I indeed to start exercising more as well given that I am a writer and homemaker so exercising tends to take a back burner. I’m including this, here where the entire world can see it, in order to hold myself accountable.
Start doing YouTube again
This is something I already preparing for The original plan was to start on the first of January but those end of year trials I mentioned early kept me from doing that so the new aim is for the fifth of February. I’ll talk more about this when the time gets closer.
My next, and last, goal is the heaviest of them all....
By the end of the month I want to have the first draft of my book Reaper finished so by February I can start first round edits.
With the yearly goals out of the way it’s time to cover my monthly goals!
Winter Quarter (December - February)
January Goals
Finish Reaper
I estimate that it should only take about 35,000 - 40,000 more words. There are a lot of feelings that come with the thought of finally finishing this book and I can’t believe I’m so close after all these years.
Read four books
I’ve already finished one book and I’m currently in the middle of a second so I may just end up reading more than four books this month.
Add four recipes to my Keto cookbook
Every recipe I’ve tried thus far has turned out unbelievably delicious and I’m really excited to keep trying out new dishes.
Film at least four videos
In attempt to revive my YouTube channel I’ve come to the conclusion that I need to film videos ahead of time in order to upload regularly.
This month’s goals are a little slim since all my efforts are going into finishing Reaper. I have other goals but those are more personal and not to be shared with the world but you might find a hint or two here or there.
That’s it for today so I’ll be seeing you all next week!
Happy reading and writing to all and to all a good day!
