Hello there everyone and welcome to the first Reaper Report!
The Reaper Report is an entire blog dedicated to all things Reaper. Here is where things like story updates, character blurbs, and anything else relating to Reaper will be shared. Posts will be every Friday so be sure to keep an eye on the page so that you don't miss out.
I’m going to be straight forward. I’ve been on again, off again with Reaper for seven years. It’s been a struggle for a while now. There have been countless times where I’ve pushed it to the side and started working on something else but time and time again I’ve returned to it.
I’ve been struggling so much with imposter syndrome. Those little voices in my head have been screaming at me about everything from my stories to my blog, and even threw in my vlogs even though I haven’t posted anything in nearly a year. It’s left with the negative thoughts of no idea I have is worth it and even worse it’s left me wondering why I’m even bothering to take this journey. It hasn’t been easy, even now there’s a part of me ready to throw it all away and go hide in a blanket fort but that isn’t how things are going to go.
Recently I had intended to work on another project during NaNoWriMo but after one hell of a meltdown I finally put my foot down with myself and vowed to finish Reaper at long last no matter what. I think there’s a reason I keep coming back to this story and it’s about time Reaper was shared with the world. Sitting around and letting my negativity get the best of me isn’t going to get me anywhere. Being an author is my dream and only I have the power to make that dream come true.
So this is the Reaper Report, here to cover the good, the bad, and the ugly until Reaper is finally out there for the world to enjoy.
September has kept me busy with creating new character sheets, working on world building, creating maps, and so much more in preparation for this month. Throughout October I’ll be fine tuning my outline for Reaper. I’m leaving no stone unturned so that I’m ready come NaNoWriMo.
I’m taking this all week by week and this week is all about outlining chapters one through seven. Last year I managed to write 40,300 words for this story and I’m hoping to keep a majority of that but I need to go in to check over and see if it all adds up. I do know that I’m scrapping everything from chapters six through eight though and some heavy outlining is needed there.
This is going to be a chaotic month but my goal is to outline at least a chapter a day so it shouldn’t be too difficult but I’m notorious for my procrastination skill so we’ll just have to see how this goes.
That’s all for this week, I’ll check back in with you all soon!
