Hello and welcome to our first October Friday everyone!
With the rise of October also comes the beginning of Preptober. It’s that time of year where the panic sets in and the rush to prepare for NaNoWriMo is all consuming. This will be my fourth year doing NaNoWriMo and I’ve found that my rate of success depends on many things. Those things begin with my handy-dandy checklist. I want to share my checklist with all of you in hopes that you will find it useful as well.

Work out NaNoWriMo battle plan
Snuggle my hubby because once November arrives I shall disappear into my writing den and he shall enjoy a full month of video games
As I’m sure you’ll notice, there’s hardly any difference between this year’s checklist and that of last year, I even used the same blog image. Like I said last year, this is my handy-dandy checklist so it isn’t really prone to too much change. I have altered the order things have gone in this year though. That was to keep myself on track for things to go over for my new story.
Speaking of my new story, I’m sure you’ll also notice that a lot of this Preptober was originally dedicated to working everything out for Fire and Ice however, plans have changed and I’ll now be working on The Queen’s Guard. That’s because Reaper and my Pirate Story are well under way and have already gone through a NaNoWriMo process in one way or another (my Pirate Story was my project for both Camp NaNoWriMos this year). I did some playing around with Fire and Ice through September but towards the end of the month by brain shifted gears and went for The Queen’s Guard instead so I’ll be using this month to really nail everything down.
Below I have included some of my favorite resources for accomplishing the different tasks on the checklist. They are the same resources as last year, still tried and tested, and I hope you can find at least some use out of them.
Now with the Preptober Checklist in order it’s time to get to work!
Until next week my lovelies~
✿ Happy reading and writing to all and to all a good day ✿
