Camp NaNoWriMo (July 2020)

Hello and a very summery Friday to you all!

This post was meant to go up last week but due to the fact that I was traveling and had summer fun on the brain, it slipped my mind. I know it’s already the second week of Camp NaNoWriMo but better late than never, right?

This is my hird year doing Camp NaNoWriMo but the first year I’ll be working on a different story. Ever since I can remember I’ve dedicated anything NaNoWriMo related to Reaper but now that Reaper is finished it’s time to set my sights on something new. For the past few months I’ve been working on a new WIP. Prior to Camp NaNoWriMo start my WIP had 20,000 words to it. Through the last week and a half I’ve gained 10,000 but my plan this month to boost that quite a bit. My goal this month through Camp NaNoWriMo is 30,000 so that my WIP will be brought up to 50,000 words. As long as I keep on track this camp is set to be the most productive one yet.

All last month I was hinting around at things concerning my new WIP. I also said that as July’s Camp NaNoWriMo began I would give more away. Now I think it’s time to finally reveal to you all what it is that’s captured my attention.

This WIP is currently untitled and therefore I often simply refer to it as “my pirate story”.

That’s right, my WIP is a story about pirates! The idea was inspired by various vss365 prompts I had done on Twitter throughout February and I decided to mold it into a story of its own. I’m not ready to give away too much at the moment but I will say this, it is a tale of adventure and love that follows a scholar determined to make his sister’s dream come true and a pirate captain who has forgotten everything he once wanted.

I promise more will be revealed come September but its been a long time since a story has captured me like this one. I will be sure to keep you all updated on my Camp NaNoWriMo journey with this story. It feels nice to have finally shared something about this story with all of you.

Until next week!

✿ Happy reading and writing to all and to all a good day ✿
