Book Review

Hello and a very hot Friday to you all!

Welcome to the first installment in a little habit I’m trying to form here on the blog. A habit that centers around one book review every month, primarily on the third Thursday. My goal is to motivate myself to start reading more while also sharing a new book with you all.

Today we’ll be exploring the teaser chapters of “The Savior’s Sister” by Jenna Moreci.

I have been anticipating the release of this book since it was announced shortly after the first book in the series, “The Savior’s Champion”, was released in 2018. It has been a long two years but none of that excitement has faded.

Though “The Savior’s Sister” isn’t yet available Jenna Moreci has the first three chapters available on her website.

A quick disclaimer that if you have preordered “The Savior’s Sister” then you will have access to the first five chapters. As not everyone has access to those chapters I will only be reviewing the first three chapters today. Furthermore, if you have not read “The Savior’s Champion” then I strongly advise you turn away now because some spoilers are unavoidable and I would hate to ruin anyone’s experience while reading.

Everyone set? Good.

Leila Tūs Salvatíraas, Savior of Thessen and magical Queen of Her realm, is worshiped by all.

Except Her father. He wants Her dead.

The Sovereign’s Tournament—a centuries-long tradition designed to select The Savior’s husband—is days away, but Brontes’s plan to overthrow his daughter ignites, shifting the objective of the competition from marriage to murder.

With the help of Her sisters and some unexpected allies, Leila must unravel Brontes’s network and prevent Her own assassination. But as the body count rises, She learns the deception runs far deeper than She imagined.

When She finds Herself falling for one of the tournament competitors, Her father finds himself another target for murder.

Can Leila save Herself and Her beloved, or is their untimely end—and the corruption of Her realm—inevitable?

TRIGGER WARNINGS: This book contains graphic violence, sexual situations, physical abuse, adult language, and references to suicide.

In “The Savior’s Sister” we are shown the events of “The Savior’s Champion” only this time we are given a different perspective on the ordeal. Our first glimpse into this newest addition to the series brings back familiar faces as well as introducing some new ones. In the prologue alone we are given a shocking revalation as to how some relationships have come to be. While the rest of the teaser further fleshes out characters and relationships I know I personally craved more of while reading “The Savior’s Champion”.

I must admit there are two characters in particular I am enjoying getting to see more of, and those are the lovely Pippa and Delphi. Though we are only given so much of them through the teaser they both shine and have lines that stick with you. Of course the character that shines the brightest is the queen of darkness Herself, Leila.

Whether you have the pleasure of reading the first three chapters or the first five, it’s clear that in this book questions will be answered yet more will arise all while the stakes feel heavier than ever.

From what I have read thus far am waiting eagerly for the release date. Just this taste alone of the story and already I can tell it’s going to be a great book. Unfortunately it wouldn’t be fair to give this book a rating just yet seeing as I have only read the first five chapters but come December I’ll have a full review with a rating for you all.

Apologies that this wasn’t your typical review but I really felt the need to put the word out there about this book. I admit the review may feel a little weak but that is because it’s only supposed to serve to peak interest without giving too much away. I already have book reviews planned out until December so it is my hope that you will find those more interesting.

Until next week!

✿ Happy reading and writing to all and to all a good day ✿
